He is a retired dentist and a long-time teacher at BYU, Orem Institute of Religion, Provo MTC, Seminary classes and Education Week. He has served in many positions of leadership within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife Pat are the parents of eight children, thirty-five grand children and eighteen great-grandchildren. They reside in Orem, Utah.
